Eibach Discontinues 2nd Gen Spring Production

Over a month ago, April 2nd, I order a set of Eibach springs from a high volume EBay parts dealer. Got a killer price by the way... SuspensionMax was vendor. With a feedback score of 14700+, & a 99.1% postive percentage, I just paid them I figured things would go smoothly. But, I always follow up to get tracking numbers, etc...

3 days after the order, I still have no tracking number so I call to find out whats going on. They didnt reply to my email. I was told that the girl who handles order was out... And, when orders are made, they're forwarded on to the Manufacturer (Eibach) & are shipped directly from there. So, it would be best to speak w/ the appropriate person. I leave all of my contact info, so she can call me asap.

The next week, I call back to converse w/ the correct person. She was very apologetic & assured me she'd get on the phone w/ Eibach ASAP & get a tracking number for me & email it to me...

Another week goes by, I hear nothing. So, knowing that the shipment is supposed to come from Eibach directly, I call them directly to find out what my tracking number is. I was told by the Eibach rep, that no shipments of my p/n had gone out in months, & that they had none in stock... So, I would have to wait for the next production cycle before my order could be filled, and his would probably be the beginning of May.

Why didnt the vendor bother to tell me this? Do they even know? I decide to call SuspensionMax, to see if they really have any clue at all. They didnt. Again, I wasnt able to get thru to the "Order Girl"... At this point, I write off the Vendor as nothing but a couple of monkeys. SuspensionMax never once contacted ME, they have never actually responded to any email I've written. The only way I've communicated with them, is ME having to call THEM...

The beginning of May comes, so I call Eibach again.... & they told me that the production schedule had slipped & now it would be around the middle of May. Not what I wanted to hear, but at least it was a straight-forward answer! Yesterday, I called Eibach again to get an update on the production schedule, & it turns out that p/n 5513.140 has officially been DISCONTINUED. I asked if they had any for the TII, & they replied no, & they were also being discontinued.

Greaaatt. My project schedule is off by over a month now, & monkeys have my money, & Eibach just kicked 2nd Gen fans in the jimmy.

Get all the contact info from SuspensionMax and get your money back ASAP. If not, file a claim and see if you can get the money back that way.

That really sucks. I was hoping to get some springs from them when I have the money. You know what is going to happen now right? You will see used and some new Eibach spring kits on ebay for 50% MORE now that they are not being produced!

Oh I'll get my money back... I'm already working on that, & have filed an Item Not Received claim, w/ PayPal...

Low Imp is right, demand probably just isnt there... as people are either going w/ cheaper brands, or Racing Beat or Coilovers. I'll be ordering Racing Beat today!

2 things, there a 2 different part numbers listed for the FC. One for turbo and vert and one for other

The difference is that the rear springs of the turbo/vert are 5lbs/in heavier.

One of the models is still available (can't remember which).

They are interchangeable.

Oh yeah, I bought the turbo set from shox.com and they did have them in stock 2 months ago. I believe its the turbo set that is discontinued.

In my conversation, the Eibach stated that both models were discontinued... My original post stated this.

Screw eibach, all the honda boys will keep buying their progressive rate springs, rx-7 owners don't need their crap.

Racing beat, tein, tanabe.

I've always associated eibach with ricers anyway

There is nothing wrong with Eibach springs. They are some of the best out there, nothing ricey about them. Crap springs would have to be golden apple or whatever.

That sucks about eibach discontinuing production of FC parts. Also, I don't know if you can, but you might be able to report that ebay company to the BBB. I had a problem with Wheel Max and I reported them. That really got things going.

You have to watch Racing Beat. They advertise Stainless Steel Exhaust systems. In reality the only thing S.S. are the mufflers. The pipe coming out of the front of the muffler isnt S.S. either. It's mild steel that is painted black. The "Y" pipe is also only mild steel that is Chrome plated as are their headers. Mild steel that is chromed gentlemen. NOT Stainless Steel.
Every time I call their tech services I get kids that don't have a clue about the product or whats going on. IMHO there not as good as they think they are.

I have the Racing Beat turbo back exhaust purchased in dec 05. The only thing not stainless about it is the flange that connects to the turbo.

Nothing is chromed. With a universal cat welded into the downpipe its as quiet as stock. You can't beat that.

I understand where you're coming from, but that's not totally true. The reason why a lot of company's market with hondas is becuase that is the car that pretty much started the import tuner market. There were even Rays Engineering ads that had civics, plus there's the NSX. I would just stay away from cheap no name parts.

I ordered some Racing Beat springs last week with some KYB AGX shocks from a nother vendor. The shocks are on their way but R.B. left a phone message saying it will be at least 2 1/2 weeks b4 they ship my springs.
Not a problem because I don't have the time to put them on but, seems the BIG spring machine may have broke down?¿?

personally, as long as the spring works the way it's supposed to and is durable enough to take a pounding on street driving without flaking or breaking apart during a reasonable timeframe, i could care less what the brand is, the cheapest one for me works.

That being said, hypercoils all the way!
