egt temps too low???????

i have a 91 n/a.
injectors recently cleaned.
getting a water temp sensor error through diag. could that be making car run rich.
car smells rich. "i did search"

idle 600F
cruise 1000F
accel to 4k rpm 1200F.

Ive read that rx7s idle at 500C-930F

Where is the EGT probe located?
What brand EGT gauge are you running?
How old is the EGT gauge (and sensor)?

Make sure the car is fully warmed up.
In fact, drive it around a bit...
My Turbo II idles a hair under 500C, which is like 900F.
At closed-loop, it used to run around 800C or about 1500F.

It sounds like you are running rich (confirmed ignition timing?) and / or your EGT probe is mounted pretty far back from the engine?
