egt temp might not be good enough????
I got a exhuats temp, waiting for RB downpipe to install. Its a autometer phantom gauge that reads to 1,600 degress max. My friend tells me that the t2's might run hotter then that, around 1,650 normal, and the gauge will be useless. Does anyone know for sure how hot the t2's run??

looks like you just made it with that gauge! i have an egt gauge and the probe is on the down pipe right next to the oxygen sensor. i never see any higher than 800C which is somethin around 1600F.
at idle i get just under 400c (just under 800f)
cruising 600c (just under 1200f)
wot 700c-800c ( just under 1400f-1600f)
i know my numbers arent exact. i forget the formula so i just double up on the celcius reading which is pretty close.

If you have it in the downpipe, it reads about 100°F lower than in the turbo exhaust manifold.  If you stay safe, 1600°F is okay - once you lean out, the gauge will peg!
