okay, got I'm takin an EGT gauge from the shop (not sure if I'll go w/ Greddy or HKS) so I can know the real effects of tunin my AFM. So, what numbers should I look for in terms of a powerful but safe mixture on an 88 NA with all the goods (sans a port job). Also, what is the optimal position to mount the sensor??

 

your best bet is to hook the EGT up as well as a wide band o2, and when the 02 readings are good, those are the egt's you want... you can't just take somebody elses egt #'s and asume they are right for you. many things change them. bet I'd asume somewhere around 800-900C. I think the N/As are hotter then turbos.

Yep, but most people put them in the "downpipe" (mid-pipe for your NA guys)...

There's a BIG difference in temps between the two positions.
