EGT cap?

so i have the RB 3in dp on my car, and a egt was used on it, but this is where im having a problem

im not using a EGT and need to block that off. i cannot find the thread size, and autometer doesnt sell a block off for that... the first pic shows the autometer egt sensor, and on the probe is the threaded part, which is welded onto my DP, seen in the second pic. i dont have the probe, so i cant go of that. i did see on the website "Complete Probe kit includes 1/4" dia. Stainless Closed Tip Probe with 10 1/2 ft. wire plus 1/4" compression - 1/8" NPT connector" so either 1/4 or 1/8???

any ideas or suggestions? id really rather not take DP off and chop it, or weld over it.... i did find one cap, the "koso EGT cap" but it gives no specifications at all about it....

All you need is a steel or stainless steel bolt or similar fastener. I wouldn't use brass or other soft metal that would have difficulty withstanding the heat. The thread pitch is 1/8" NPT (National Pipe Thread), which is a very common pitch that you can find at any hardware store. The length of the shank should be just long enough to engage all of the threads in the bung (weld fitting or screw collar) that is on the downpipe.

The 1/4" compression fitting is the nut that you see connecting the 90 degree tube to the body of the probe. This is not relevant to your issue.

Personally, I would reinstall an EGT probe and gage because it is great for tuning (better than AFR), and it makes a good monitor. However, if you are not tuning the engine, and you don't want to spend the money on a monitor, then you can just cap it off.

the car has been changed back to stock aside from a fcd and the racing beat revii exhaust. I appreciate the help, I had figured 1/4, gotta run up to the hardware store.

that fitting is what screwed on, it is what im trying to block off. there are no threads inside of what's sticking out, so I'm trying to find a cap to cover it. 1/4 is way too big, 1/8 is too small.

I was assuming that you would have unscrewed the adapter body. Does it not unscrew from the downpipe?

that's welded to the dp, I ended up just buying my old gauge/sensor back. he wasn't using it so, it'll make things easy and doesn't hurt to have it anyways.
