CA Egr Testing

How do i test a egr valve if it is off the engine block?

From: Smiths Falls.(near Ottawa!.Mapquest IT!)
flip it over and See if the diaphragm moves freely..if it does,When you Compress it,block off the Vacuum Tees on it,If it holds,then it is good.

And also just put a vaccuum line on the EGR. Suck on it to see if it holds a vacuum or not. IF NOT, then replace it.
