Efan shroud thought on heat reduction.

I was thinking.

Rught now our radiators are removing all that hot air to just get it thrown at the engine again by the fans...........

So I was thinking.

Would it be beneficial to create a fan shrouyd which ducted air under the car?

I have a Permacool 16inch which will be in soon and I will be fabbing a shroud for my Koyo.

I woudl think that it might actually help air movement through the radiator.

The under body has some what of a vacuum effect right?

Maybe I woudl have to add some louver things to make the air travel towards the back oif the car and create a negative pressure zone.

I woudln't have a whole lot of exit room though.

Any thoughts?comments? tips? Fluidynamic freaks?

LOL...Remember- the air past the rad might feel hot to us mere mortal humans, but it feels cool to a 190* engine...

Without actually measuring the pressures at various points around the engine bay to determine which bits are at high pressure and which bits are at low pressure, the chances of making something that'll work like you want are slim. It's much harder to predict what will happen than you'd think, but with a simple manoneter this can be done quite easily. Autospeed recently did a 3-part article on this very idea, and made positive improvements to radiator flow. You need to subscribe to read them, but a subscpription is worth every penny.
