ECU error codes

ECU error codes
How would one go about testing the ECU codes to see if all the sensors are working properly? (the check engine light does NOT come on). Will it work even if the light doesnt come on?

Goto http://www.teamfc3s.org/ there is a section on making a error code tester that plugs in the socket in the engine bay + it lists the error codes
how bout air/fuel mixture? short of getting an air fuel gauge, whats another way to check my mixture? thanks
