Question easy for you, but hard for me - please share tips/tricks on how to tighten belts..

you know, how to/what not to do when tightening ac/air pump/ac belts........

i am replacing my waterpump...

um.... do not overtighten the nut in the middle of the pulleys.

take a ruler and measure the belt slack and compare to a haynes or FSM.

uhh... use a 10mm socket on the tightening rods.

but what do you guys do to pull the accessories apart? the good old crow bar technique? can you do this job by yourself, or should i get a six pack and ask a friend to help out?

a friend helps, i've done it with only myself and with a friend, but first thing to do is go get your hands on a haynes, chiltons, FSM, or something of the like, it tells you how to do it step by step, makes it real easy man.
