i went to the shop and they were gonna put a 2.5 straight pipe instead of the hollow cat and stick it to the midpipe, but we found out when i hit the snow bank my exhaust pulled the studs out of the turbo and srtiped the top two holes all to ****. man this is way worse than i thought. again to all the "musta blown your motor" guys, it has less tourque, naturally, in the low end, but in the top end its crazy fast. c'mon youd hope a guy knows when his motor is gone. when i do get it done i'm gonna get a 2.5 inch downpipe to the existing 2.5 inch mid pipe and catback. this will still provide good low end torque, right?

Talk to the guys and see whether you need to have your timing advanced or retarded to keep your low-end torque and still have the great top-end power. I am not sure which it is but one or the other will help.

Oooookaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy........
If your car is now stalling at the lighs, has markedly worse fuel economy and *seems* slower, maybe it actually is.
My motor would still hold 10psi if i nailed it when i blew it up, still pulled ok...
Either way, it probably isn't farked but if you have prolems that wern't there before as I listed above you have done something else wrong to your car, you should track it down and fix. Because having no exhaust will not drasticaly change fuel economy, idle strength or power. (low down)

sorry, let me clear this up, not stalling, haven't stalled it once. "almost stalled once" because i wasn't used to the lack of torque. still idles and drives perfect. i think its way worse on gas because i have no oxygen sensor now, and i have to boost to get it rolling alnmost

Ok you keep talking about this lack or torque...
and now your saying you have to boost it to get it moving almost?
Now I don't particularly care wether or not you believe what I and other have said in this thread about the post turbine section of the exhaust having none, or _very_ little effect on torque in your lower RPM region.
I however think you should consider this advice as being true because believe it or not, your not the first person to try this out..
Hell I drove my car 10km's to my exhaust shop with out any dump pipe on the turbo at all...
I think you should do a compression test... You obviously have a problem, it's either in your head or somewhere else _other_ than your exhaust, but hey, its your car

I put a full 3" exhaust on my 12AT (smaller than a 13BT obviously) and did not notice any drop in torque anywhere in the rev range. In fact it was quite the opposite, as the faster spooling turbo was able to give me more torque earlier.
I don't think the exhaust is the problem, unless it's been the cause of a boost spike that lunched a seal...
