E-Brake/Spin **** installation difficulty...I searched =)
Ok....so i searched up how to install the spin **** and came across a pretty good guide. It told me to pull off the silver ring around the ebrake end place ( i assume its the black one on a s5,.....BTW: im trying this on a s5) and juss pull up and twist....however, i cannot get the black/silver ring thingy to slide down from the ebrake....i tried using a flat head and everyhting but it just killed the leather.....o also tried juss forcing it and pull up and twist....wasnt even close to comming off..... Then i went to a buddys S4....i instsalled his spin **** in 2 minutes.....i dun get it, y cant i get mine to come off!!!Should i just break that silver/black ring thing!?!!??!
please help
thanks

I have not seen anything that lame or mis-named for a long while. What's the point???
But any way for a Mazda you would need to remove the rubber/plastic hand brake cover to fit that button on there. The plastic cover is usually welded on after all these years. I will often have to use a clamp wrench onthe plastic and rip it off (but then you will need to replace it with a new good cover like a Miata wooden one.

And the stock systme already locks the ebrake- so I guess I just don't get it.
its purpose is so when you pull the handle up it doesnt auto lock it unless you push that button OUT (so you can just give it a quick up thrust to lock the wheels and allow the rear end to come out and then immediately let go of the ebrake without having to hold the button in like out stock setup does)

LOL
Spin ****. An unusual name. I agree with you Mark, I would've thought he meant a suicide **** if it weren't for that link. Honestly, It's pathetic that people would pay money for somthing like that. To each their own I suppose. In the words of P.T. Barnum,"There's a sucker born every minute." seems to be a fitting statement here.
it is used to hold the brake button in to prevent it from locking, this helps when holding a long drift, when you need a few quick pulls of the ebrake to hold your angle, its not a stupid idea for those of you who think it is. Beleive me, it sucks when you have to hold the button to pull it and then worry about it sticking half way.

Ya its not stupid at all. 1 less thing to worry about when sliding sideways. It would be quite dangerous to have it lock on you 1/2 way through a higher speed drift. If I remember correctly on mine, you cant just push the button in to unlock it, you have to pull it up a little more while pressing the button to let the pressure off it.

They can also be used WITH the spring to just make the **** easier to push in... or so I've heard.
In a way, WRC cars already have these sort of things (although in the form of a lever next to the steering wheel, with it's own master cylinder).

ya... didn't you guys see FF: Tokyo drift? All the L33t Drifta's be usin' that shiz.
Damn dawg. Get rizzle.... LoL
Interesting idea. Though, of the drifters I know, most are using pure horsepower to break loose. I guess if you are lacking in enough torque or HP to break the car loose that kind of stuff will work. I prefer pure power, but, that is unheard of in an N/A.

Oh yea. I remember. I see civic guys do this all the time out in parking lots. Way better drifters then me.
I have also seen them using plastic lunch trays to slide better.... might be cheaper then the thing you are wanting to use. Just some ideas.
