Why do you need to? Are you installing a shift boot?

Remove console, seats, carpet, then 3 bolts that bolt the unit to the floor. You may be able to fold over the carpet forward and get under it to remove the bolts.

The handle itself has a screw on the inside, then two big snaps on either side of the plastic seam.

lol i guess i should clarify. I mean the part that you hold in your hand. The part with the button on it used to release the locked brake. Not the actual metal handbrake arm itself, just the 'decorational handle' part of it.

Mine was just held on with some tacky stuff, slides right off with a little effort. Heating it might help soften the tacky stuff, but wasnt needed on my car.

I just took out my driver's seat and took the screw out of the plastic on the handbrake and there are three bolts two on the side of the hump (covered by removable carpet) and one under the centre console. You just pop out the centre panel and unscrew a few screws in the centre glove box deal. Be careful not to snap any of the plastic tabs like me. The full time was about 15 minutes. Could have been much quicker. Not hard in the least
