I just got an email from Pineapple Racing concerning using my dual pulley setup with their alternator relocation kit and they recommended against using any dual belt setup! Their logic was one belt will always be looser than the other regardless and when that loose belt fails it will take out the tight belt with it.

I was a little shocked as I've been using my dual belt setup for over 6 months and sometimes over 8k rpm with no problems. ~rich

1) Stop threadjacking - start your own thread.

2) This is why you buy two new belts when installing a double sheave pulley.

Pineapple needs to spend MORE time making sure they correctly assemble their customers engines. (YES I AM STILL PISSED AFTER HAVING 2 P.O.S. Engines shipped to me by ROB GOLDEN)

Funny how for YEARS, ROB GOLDEN advocated the "yahoo belt", a SLAPSTICK BACKWOODS Engineering solution that placed undue stress on the waterpump bushing; by having one belt >50% contact are aand the other belt 20% contact area in different vectors.

Like Ted stated, Install 2 NEW belts that are the sems size; yes size does vary during each manufacturing run.

I used one in my old T2 and thought it was a good thing.
I never had any problems with it.

Wasn't trying to jack his thread - just passing on the info I received from Pineapple racing. I've seen a lot of people speak of them as a rotary authority and I figured the information was relevant - sorry. ~rich

I've had good luck with yoohoo belts, but I no longer recommend them to others.

Hey, I like your site and will likely get one of your dual alt pulleys. One question off topic, is it just me or is dark blue letter on black background near impossible to read?

Reads fine on my computers at work and home. Thanks for the input, I may revamp the colors when I get a second or two.

I'm going to be buying a banzaitoyota dual belt pulley tomorrow myself. According to the guide I have to remove my alt. Can't I do it while the alt is on the car if I use some vice grips?

No need to apologize, but better watch out who you call an "authority".
I think we are all trying to add our own personal data points, and it's up to the reader to swim through all the drivel.
If you haven't figured that out by now, Pineapple Racing doesn't have a pristine reputation here...

Either someone is selling back stock or they are making their own versions, cause I see them on eBay all the time.
Try do a search for "fc3s", and there should be one on sale for like $30 - $35 right now?
