dont think that way. just get a fcd, some 720's, safc(or something comprable) a fuel pump and a racing beat exhaust and you will be set. sounds like a lot but its really not

RX-7 Old Timer
My stock S4 TII was also dissappointing in a few ways. Mostly throttle response. It doesn't blip like my S4 N/A with open exhaust and no accessories, and it doesn't have as much grunt off idle. However, the first time I opened it up on an on ramp, there was a nice smooth wallop of power, and it put a big grin on my face. It's nice to be able to just press the gas a bit and accelerate on the freeway. I'm excited for the mods when they come.
I still drive both cars, the N/A in the Winter, and I love them both. I find myself driving the N/A more aggressively around town- the motor seems happy that way, and I don't end up breaking speed limits. The T2 is more subtle. It just accelerates when you want it to without any fuss. If I play with the T2, I end up going pretty fast, and it's over quickly. It's happiest on the freeway or the autocross/track.

i was planning on those basic bolt-ons but still trying to max out the stock turbine. the RB exhaust would be nice but i want something with a single exhaust outlet cause i'm not to big of a fan for dual. I really like the car cause it's my first sports (soon to be turbo) car.

How can you make such a contradictory statement? "The instant power of your slow NA"? Doesn't make sense. Stop trying to compare an NA to a turbo, its vastly different.
All the power your car makes at its peak, a stock TII will make that in half the time it takes for you to make it. Much less a modified TII with a bigger turbo and supporting crap to go with it.
Just sayin'

Top Down, Boost Up

"When the turbo finally spooled" , huh? There's something wrong with that turbo/car if you're sitting around waiting for the turbo to spool. With a non-broken stock turbo, boost is instantaneous and comes on hard around 3k RPM. There's a huge wave of torque in the midrange that an NA just does not have. If you couldn't feel the difference, something is either wrong with you, or wrong with the car. It's a night and day difference. And as far as top-end, a stock turbo with a good intake and exhaust setup will breath just fine up to ~6K RPM. I can maintain 10 psi up that high, and still about 8 psi to redline.

When I got my turbo I kinda felt the same way, Coming from an na. But after a couple days and learning how to really drive the car. How and when the boost comes on. And just the mid range. Now when I get in my na and try and drive it the same it just falls on it's face.

An NA with 250whp sounds like BS. And on the off chance that you actually did have an NA making 250whp, then that's totally irrelevant to the topic because we are talking about stock power level NA's, your car would probably have a lot of money in to it to make that power on an NA motor.

im running a 1.7 rtek 720 secondaries 255 walbro 3 inch racingbeat exhaust and 15psi and i must say....i made my friend literally pee on himself...not only that spanked a -09 gti by 7 cars and a trans am gta....the difference between n/a and turbo is that the na saves gas has a higher compression ratio and its pretty quick the turbo how ever have lower compression but is very fast and has a different power feel....i would love to have both thats why im looking for an na as a daily to drive around
