Driveshaft only on for 3 days and wont come off

I did an engine swap everything seemed to be ok, but seems something went wrong with the clutch. It wasnt a new clutch I put in, but it came from my other car which was only a year old, I inspected it and it still looked brand new.

Took the car out a few times and after the third day, about 100 miles later, it wont go into any gear and reverse grinds.

When I get to removing the driveshaft, which is only been in 3 days, it wont come out. All bolts are off and i soaked and banged and pryed, still wont move. It seems like its being forced back by the tranny somehow against the rear, im getting no play at all. I have tried also being in gear, (goes in gear when car is not running) that did nothing

Also to add, when i start the car in gear with the clutch engaged, it will surge forward as if i didnt even have the clutch engaged.

I need t get the shaft off so i can see what went wrong during my clutch install, and fix the problem.

hey check your slave cylinder and master cylinder, maybe one is faulty, if you can't remove the drive shaft, you might have to drop your rear end, if all the bolts are out and it won't slide out. I had the same problem with my clutch not going into any gear and it turned out to be the pilot bearing exploding. Good luck man

When removing the driveshaft, it does not matter if you are in gear or not.
You should be pushing the driveshaft towards the tranny first in order to remove it.
If you are saying there is NO play when you do this there may lie a serious problem.

sounds like your pilot bearing exploded... use a pry bar on the driveshaft side that meets to the differentials face, and try to pry the two apart from each other....good luck

are you sure its not your hydraulics? Have somebody look at the slave cyl and see if it pushes against the clutch fork when you pump the clutch. i wouldnt go through all the trouble of pulling the tranny if its just a blown slave cyl
