Driver's side turn signals don't work

My driver's side turn signals don't work on my 90 GXL. Also, the left side emergency flashers don't work including the left indicator light in the dash. I've repalced both bulbs. Searching the archives has shown that other have had similar problems. The archives indicated that the problem was the flasher board in the CPU. I replaced the board with a new one and the signals still don't work. It's not the ground because the LHS parking light works. I can hear the flasher unit clicking when turn on the left signals, but no lights for the LHS. So what's left: 1. Light cluster switch, 2. Turn signal cancelling sensor in steering wheel, and 3. Short in wiring. Anyone had a similar problem with there turn signals? Any ideas here?

I had a similar problem, but the cpu fixed it. I think if it was the canceling switch then you would still be able to hold the lever down to get it to work and if it was the switch itself the you wouldn't be able to hear anything working when put the signal on.

Sorry I can't help more.

I had a similar problem, but water had entered the enclosure and caused rust to form in the bulb socket. In turn this caused the ground cable to fry, so it worked sometimes. I eventually had to replace the assembly and ground it to the trailing coil pack mounting bolt, rather than try to thread a new cable through the loom.
