Drivers Outside Mirror

The outside mirror on my vert has to be changed owing to the requirements in Aussie for compliance on an import. My question is can someone explain to me how i could remove the old mirror lens and install a lens that complies with our regs.I dont wish to purchase another complete assy, just replace the lens if at all possible.Cant just glue the correct lens on as the origonal lens is convex and it would look bloody awful.Any hints, tips or advice on replacement would be much appreciated

it has a 3 prong this right dead center dehind it, then there are 2 retainer clips that can be poped off, no worries, you have to pull hard, the mirror wond crack that easy, put some muslle to it and you will see what i an talking about, pry it from the bottom and look inside.

Not sure what you are on about with your instructions, could you make them a bit clearer. When i looked last night all i could see was when you moved the lens back at the top or bottom as far as it would go against the electrict motor i could see a screw that appears to be holding the assy into the mirror shell and also when i folded the mirror back against the door i could see 3 screws that seem to hold the spring and locking mechanism for the whole mirror.Do i have to get the mirroe assy out of the shell to do what you are talking about.
