drivers door lock

So, I noticed on my car today that the driver side door lock "door" is gone, I don't know if it just broke off and fell out or if it's still in there...somewhere. I was wondering if anybody knows if a locksmith can fix that? I really don't want to have to get seperate keys if i replace all the locks, mazdatrix sells locks but the ignition lock will always be different, which I don't want.

Someone busted my lock and part of the door trying to break in. So i've got a new door and hopefully the lock is salvageable. If not I'll have to just get new door locks, it is annoying but there's not much else I can do.
I think I've read somewhere that the 4 digit number on the original keys matches the lock and you can order new locks from a mazda parts shop

I'll have to look into that, I'm sure they will charge plenty though.

My driver's side is gone also. I had to take out the lock because my key wouldn't go in all the way. I noticed a piece of metal, almost like the end of a key, jammed in there. It took quite a while to fish it out, but I finally did. Yay for not having my car broken into, not that there's anything to take...

Buy a new door handle. Before you install it bring it to a locksmith and they can re-key it so that you can still use your original key., Only cost me $12 to re-key it and for another key.

My driver side lock never worked since I got the car, and now the passanger door handle from outside broke...
I went to Mazda and I ordered these, and the guy made a copy for my key so he could code the lock to my key, so you could probably bring the lock with the key to a locksmith and it can be done
