Driver side power window control
Are these prone to failure? Anyone have an extra one willing sell?
Also, whats the normal idle rpm for a 91 na? Mine seems to idle a little rough @ about 400, there a way to tune this?
+Thanks
Brad

My bastard window switch has broken a bunch of times. At first the connectors just needed to be cleaned (took apart the switch, sprayed connector cleaner in the electrical sliders), but then the plastic broke. About three epoxies later, the switch works well enough for me. I didn't want to throw down the $50 for a "new" one (I don't recall how much a really new one is, but if I remember right it's pretty ridiculous.) Someone on here once upon a time had a writeup on making your own with a $6 relay and some other misc items.

>>how about a convert to non-power windows. if you have the components is this easy to do??
I just switched my FC from manual to power. It was easy.
Try to fix the switches. Mazda will soak you for new replacements (you wanna see insane pricing, check out what they want for our instrument cluster switches at Mazdatrix!)
If your switch quit working but isn't broken, your first suspect is carbon build-up on the contacts. It's easy to take the switch box out of the door and open it. And the few internal components are designed to be assembled one way only, so you can't screw it up when you put it back together (unless you try really hard to.)
Clean all of the contacts, espcecially the two metal '_/\_' shaped pieces, with sandpaper. Gently!
If it still isn't working after that, you may want check the motor.
