yeah... that means you drove like an idiot.

monkhommey 08-15-06 07:48 PM

check your fuel injector wires.. could of jared somethin loose.. ol nice drift.. well until half way thru...

robtechfabrications 08-15-06 07:53 PM

everyone summed it up...no brakes!! more gas...looks like bein sideways made you nervous and the natural reaction when nervous is to hit the brakes...if you're gonna drift you gotta commit...like snowboarding...if you check ur speed (basically brake) right before you hit a jump or whatever you're probably gonna eat shit.

Secondmessiah 08-15-06 10:26 PM

sounds like your suspension is fucked

and for all you people telling him to keep it off the public roads, from the video it appears as though he found an abandoned place to practice, so he wasnt placing anyone else in danger

All good and true, but still, most tracks and empty parking lots don't have the hazards you can have on backroads. For example, curbs and ditches, some parking lots don't even have poles you can possibly slam into.

Keeping it on a track\empty lot not only keeps people safer but it also keeps your car safer.

*edit*
BTW bob, what happened with your situation? I read your thread when it happened. Things turnin out any better?

rotarydriver108 08-15-06 10:50 PM

dam man sux

drifting actually saved my life lol no lie

ProjectR13B 08-15-06 10:58 PM

in the braking defense, i used to tap the brake real quick if i got sideways (in the rain at least) to bring my back end back around, but panic braking can kill a nice drift. that was pretty smooth to dude until the spin. good luck with your car. after a i hit a curb and busted 3 of my rims i knew that curbs should be no where near a drifting vehicle. gald your safe.

furiousbob 08-15-06 11:05 PM

yeah see i figured. but um no word from anybody yet. it's been two months since it happened and about...5 weeks since my supposed arraignment (which never happened).

I back that up completely as I have also broken a rim like that... I usually drift in old abandoned parking lots (with the K-Marts going out of business around here) we have more and more available it seems...

WHOO hoo lake herman road. thats a nice spot. you should come through vacaville sometime highway 128 is a blast

jgrts20 09-13-06 07:56 AM

doesnt look that bad, you miss the pole by couple feet lucky. What are you running for an exhaust? sounds good.

Our K-mart has been torn down and turned into a nice new shopping center. It also wasn't exactly in an abandoned place - it was on the corner of the largest highway interchange in town. My choice place to play around with drifting is the parking lot for a baseball field complex close to my parents house. Its large and has no light posts in the way, plus they just re-paved it recently.
As for the drifting, the way my car is setup, I just let off the gas and the rear snaps back in place, even in the rain. Its gotten way more sideways than that and had no problems.

digitalsolo 09-13-06 09:46 AM

Drifter wrecked their car... what a shame... :balls:

The problem with 2000RPM.

I had this very problem where the car will not go past 2000RPM. Once you hit it, the engine will go back to idle. It's like the engine is hitting a brick wall. After playing with it I noticed the problem too less time to resolve it's self after I pulled the throttle cable. Then one day I noticed the throttle cable turns a semi circled piece of metal. This lets a plastic cylinder out of it's shaft. This is the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor). In my case the cylinder wasn't coming all the way out of the shaft. I pushed it a little and then the car would rev to redline. So I got some graphite power and lubricated it, (WD40 only lasted about a day) and don't have the problem anymore! w00t!! Attached is a picture showing what I am talking about.

yeah, that'd be the smart thing to do when doing illegal driving on public roads, let the people who already rape you for premiums KNOW that you are doing illegal driving on public roads.

HAHA actually he did. Me, Jackie in his FD, AaronConklin and his friend both in red FCs all meet up in Vacaville Friday night.
Didn't know it was you AaronConklin who fell into a ditch when I met you. You were throwing some nice flames outside the bowling alley though.
