Dragger muffler copy opinion please

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636

Has anyone tried this muffler or have any opinions comments about if they would be any good on my 86GX? SOmeone local to me has a pair in the box that I can get for a good price but have never heard of them or what they would sound like or quality.

Thanks!

Terry

I'm not personally a fan of exhaust that looks like it can launch a melon.

An important question to ask is "Was it designed for the RX-7, or does it just fit?" The exhaust can get a bit warm coming off the rotary.

True but that isn't that important by the time it gets to the bumper/end of the exhaust.

Anyways, I haven't used those particular mufflers, but I do have BOMZ Ebay brand type mufflers, they are workin just fine for me.

I really wouldn't! That system is one of the worst ever made. A small amount of water gets in there and causes a great amount of rust to the filaments. Within a few days you get that "bee in a tin can" effect. Thus is true just about all tips under $100. That just sounds like ****, you want a good system, or a hondafied POS that just buzzes and annoys the real racers?

Here is a list of the exhaust systems I personally trust:

The one 2nd from the bottom is what I am pondering for my FC:
https://www.racingbeat.com/FCExhaust/FC%20Exhaust.htm

I am quite partial to the Skunk2 system; in fact I am having a custom system built just for my 944. It performs great, and with a silencer it can shred the street without abusing you neighbors ears. Lets face it, the FC has nothing to prove, it's performance speaks for itself! Why ruin a good car with a riced out exhaust?

What are you trying to prove and whom to?

If you want a proformance system get one that purrs, not some gawdy strap-on job that makes you look like a moron. But that... it just sound like an ill civic being given its last rights.

The advertisement for that, is ******* retarded as hell, oh my gosh. All I saw was "JDM" and the numbers "10-15" and i just closed the window. Im sure the muffler is "so-so" but the advertising sucks.

knock offs are crap, you can't expect any kind quality or function from a $25 can. it's basically just paying for something shiny...

you can buy something crap, and replace it many times...or you can buy something quality and never have to replace it (which winds up costing less in the long run!)

if you dont have a budget for a decent exhaust, at the minimum get a magnaflow or flowmaster

quote from ebay muffler
Sporty Deeeeep Throttle Tone
a 2.5" inlet to a 4.5' outlet will make you sound like the most rice rx7 ever, espically if you still have the rest of your exhaust stock. if you want a quality muffler of that style and one that doesnt sound like sh*t. then get a corksport.

Maybe not 100% rice, but still pointless. And what exactly does the sound prove?
1.) Your not conformable enough with the performance alone, there has to be some sign that you drive a fast car... wait... NOISE! Because we all know that strait pipe make a 10-second car.
2) Freud says your ***** will get bigger if you drive a nicer/faster/louder car.

1.you know nothing about rotaries as its very clear from your misinformed posts

half bridge ports increase power by alot, which also increases the amount of exhaust that needs to exit (ie bigger exhaust tubing) now my options are either leave the end without a muffler, which will be ALOT louder than it was there or put a muffler on it. now putting a muffler with a 2 inch outlet is kinda stupid if you have a 3 inch exhaust all the way back dont you think?

2. you drive a porsche..might be a little hypocritical dont you think?

ive had that since ive had the car. but my motor went so im rebuilding it to a small street port for the time being but im going to keep my old housings and practice doing half bridges on them and then get an old good core and build a new motor better than it was before.

How so "misinformed?" I might not be one of you self-declared rotary "elitists" but I at least have the common sense to realize (let alone search which, obvious due to your weak flame, you have failed to do) that there a silencing options available for a 3" system. Be they few and in more cases than not universal bolt-ons, they still exist. Now doing so is a matter of opinion, and while I do not agree with your choice it is one you have made. Likewise it is my choice to voice my thoughts, be they derogatory. But to tell me out and out that my OPINION is WRONG, I think you are the narrow minded one.

How so? Have you even seen my car?
I'm not surcomming to cliches, and while it may be fast I don't feel the need to show off by shifting past 4k or otherwise osterting dominance. Yes I drive a nice car, but it is for me, and to hell with other opinions.

my choice seeing it was on the car when i bought it.

btw all bridgeports are loud, you can not make them quieter. it is the type of port they are.

Funny, I would have thought a silencer would do just that. I had no idea that bridgeports were a magical system that overrode all else. It even worked on a 3.5" straitpipe '64 1/2 Stang, bringing it within legal levels. Wow, owning 7 is gonna be sweet.

You list most if not all of the top end exhausts for FC's. You say you trust them, tell us about the Fc's you owned that have run those exhausts and compare the differences please.
