door locks windows and sunroof

ok i was wondering what i can do to fix this. on my driver side my door doesn't lock or unlock with the key. so i have to go into my pass. side open the door then unlock my side. i was wondering what do you think i should do to fix this problem. should i replace it? but then i would have to get new keys right? give me your opinion. also my windows! roar they are a pain in the @$$! ok my side rolls down about half way. then when i go to roll it up all i hear is a "click click" sound. what the hell can that be? and then on my pass. side it rolls all the way down but then when i go to roll it up it but the front part of the window doesn't i have to pull it up! what do you think that is? and then my sunroof! it opens with no problem but then it doesn't close. i have to pull it with my hand and i press the button! what is that?

Those are all common problems, my passenger side has a problem where if i lock it and pull my handle inside or outside it will never unlock unless i open the door and push up a lever which is really annoying, I have no idea what to do it works fine when I open it or just lock it and do nothing with the handles when it is locked. The sunroof on my car is sticky so i have to push it a little so it can open and the only thing I can think of for the windows is greasing it.

Sounds like all your windows need a good greasing. Read around on how to do that if ya want, but it's pretty straight forward. But the lock thing. I bought a new lock set, because I coulden't unlock it w/a key. Everything else was fine. Turns out that a linkage fell out, which I found on the bottom inside of the door. Hooked it back up, and it's fine. So check that all your linkages are there, the fsm is a great thing to know what linkages are supposed to be there...later

Did the lock every work???
If it didn't maybe the previous owner swapped the lock and forgot to give you the key?
You can buy a brand new lock (~$35) from the Mazda dealer and take it to any locksmith to have it matched for your key - no need to get a new key.
Maybe the stupid little door flap popped off and fell inside and jammed something?
This is more a typical FD thing, but you can fish the little door out by using a flashlight and a stiff piece of wire.

The clicking of the window means the "beads" are either sticking or the sprocket is worn.
There's actually a TSB on moving the tube with the guide beads and putting it in a more vertical position to help with the window going up and down - go figure.
If it's a worn sprocket, just replace the old one - the Mazda dealer can help you look up the part.

Stuck sunroof - typical FC problem...
"Rebuilding" the sunroof mechanism and relubing the guides is about all you can do this.
This doesn't last too long, as the sunroof area attracts a lot of dust, dirt, and grime.
I do this almost once a year, and it barely stays working for a few months. :P

nope the locks never worked, i was looking over the papers the previous owner from when he had his motor rebuilt, and mazda wrote down that the lock didn't work nor did the sunroof but he replaced the two window switches. that is a good idea about getting a new lock and having a lock smith match my key good thinking i didn't even think about that! as for the clicking i guess i should take the door panel off and lube it up! would motorcycle chain cleaner do for the rails on the sunroof and on the windows and then use some motorcycle chain lube for the same parts? what do you think? when i use the chain cleaner on my motorcycle it cleans it really good and the lube doesn't pick up dirt! so i guess it would be good to use on the rails and stuff, let me know what you think! o yeah and because it was a nice day i said to myself "self roll with the sunroof open today" and now it is stuck up! aint that some ****!...lol
