i have my lt8 wired into the door lock mechenism back by the fuel pump. what the hell is that and do i even need it. my old gxl didnt have it and this t2 motor is going into the gxl.

 

Door lock??? Don't you mean something else as there is not a door lock motor back by the fuel pump???

 

possibly an automatic hatch release?

 

if you look at the manual it sits on the left side in the back hatch. it is the door lock control unit. my lt8 is wired into it. ive never seen it before i dont know what models they came on because my last rx7 and the one the motor is being swaped into doesnt have it.

 

Not sure who installed your LT8, but when i installed mine the only thing i used back there was for the fuel pump.

do you have an aftermarket alarm installed? On S4's, the FSM says that the power lock relay is on the drivers side, opposite from the gas tank fill.

 

i didnt put it in i think it has something to do with the power locks. i didnt wire it into the back of my other car and it didnt change anything. a spec did the wiring but they wont contact me back... bastards
