ok i just got a t2 when i got home with my new happy car i lock both sides of the car. when i try to open the drivers side the door wont open so i try to open it from the inside and it wont open. i try to listen to hear any click but theres no noise at all when i try to open it with the inside and the outside handle. got any ideas on how to open it besides ripping it open! plz help thanks alot!

I'm In that present situation. My Drivers door won't open from the Inside and out. It turns out the the Striker Plate Assemby (at bottom corner, opposite corner of Handle) Is worn out. Part#58-560z needs to be replaced. This Is for a GXL.

 

There is a small spring on the door latch assembly. When it breaks, the door will jam closed. Yours has probably broken. You will need to remove the door cover from inside the car with the door closed (serious PITA) and use your fingers to wiggle the latch and rods to open the door. You won't be able to remove the whole panel, only once side. So be careful when bending it.

You could open the door with the skin on! You just have to fiddle around In that area I described. The pin needs to be depressed. You'd better place a wedge b'n the window and the door to get to It, should you have the same problem. I just did mine, fingers almost sustained frost bite doing It. The only thing, I can't lift the handle from Inside or outside while In Lock mode. I have to put up with this 'til I get my assembly next Monday.
