dollorto side drafts,proper fuel pressure?

alright guys,so i finaly got my dollorto dhla 48's up and working.but the engine won't stay running and my fuel pressure guage reads 4psi when she starts but then drops to 1psi and stalls out.how much fuel pressure should i have?i realised im using the wrong pressure regulatr and am working on getting the correct fpr,the one with a return line.the car is a 88gxl na 6 port with long tube header and 2.5inch exhaust all the back through a gp sports muffler.i was told to use the stock fuel pump and a holley fpr with a return and i should be fine as long as i have a pressure gauge and can see whats going on.the fpr i have doesn't have a designated redturn port however im using the "to 2nd carb port" as fuel return at the moment because thats the way the guy was using it when i got the carb set up.any advice will be muchly appreciated.thanks in advance.

btw,i have searched and not finding anything.

IIRC, it should be in the 8-12 psi range.

And I was wrong.
The number I'm finding is 4.5psi.

dude, you should really be asking these questions in the first gen section. they are more than capable of answering every single question you have.

get a low pressure pump, and a low pressure fpr, and a low pressure FP gauge.

The stock EFI pump is unsuitable for a carb setup. Get a proper carb fuel pump, regulator, and gauge. I had a Holley "Blue" (110gph free flow) pump and regulator on my 1Gen RX-7 and it worked pretty well although it was a bit loud. Racing Beat recommends the Mallory 4070M pump (70gph free flow) and 4809 regulator for their carb kits. The 1Gen section on this forum can probably give you some more options.
