I used the jspec harness and wish I didn't. Works fine but a hassle.
S5 Jspec harness works - BUT
1. You will have to add your wiper harness - if you are going to cut into your old harness anyway and ruin it - why don't you just use it in the first place?
2. You will have to run a wire for the stock coolant temp gauge
3. It fits other than that without modification - but just barely using creative wiring routing. When you lay it out and start plugging it in, it all becomes clear. The grommet will not fit and you will have to pad it another way going through the firewall.
If its all you have, go for it! If you have another option, try that first.

This is something to consider depending on which harness I find first. Im praying that some guys at 7 stock bring these kind of parts to the event.

You can use everything from a S5 except the electronics.
I'm running S5 manifolds and turbo. I used a S4 TII TB I had already modd'ed so I'm not sure of S5 bolt patterns differ from S4 TPS locations.

If you a wiring savy then using a NA harness is easiest. It's about 3 wires that need to be depinned or moved and then a few things like BAC needs to be extended.
If you don't feel like extending wires then TII harness can be done but you have to move more wires at the ECU and FEM plugs.

for standalone systems,if you have a shop do it for you there are a few that include tuning w/ the install.i know it's pricey to have someone do all the wiring for the motor but it depends on how much knowledge you have to do it yourself.i know i'm pretty bad w/ wiring so if i do go for a microtech or w/e i might just take my car to a local shop and get them to do it.nut if i do go that route,i'll be there for the full rewiring and learn as much as i could.i'm gonna be paying for it but i also get free tuning which i can kinda see where all the money i paid for is going to.

fddrft7, where did you get your motor from and how much was it, if you don't mind me asking. was it just from a random person? are you planning to rebuild it or just throw the motor in?

The deal was to purchase a short block with all the necessities being as I already had the TII drivetrain. Instead of getting the motor the same night as i was told, it took a week and 3 phone calls to finally get hold of it.
In the end, I ended up getting a short block minus: alternator, oil cooler, legit thermostat cover, mounted TMIC, equipped power steering pump, bent intake manifold and no throttle cable. Good deal huh!
As far as a rebuild, it's a must, but I have to ride it out first and complete the install to see what condition the motor is in. Sounds crazy but Im inpatient and have to get the car moving.

Alright, after a much antcipated 7 stock event, I made a few connects and networked a bit in search of parts to complete my swap.
After a brief talk with Justin from Rotary Power in Gardena, he's down to hook up some tuning on a haltech and was a really cool guy. BUT, to my suprise, a guy here in the forums suprised me with an email offering the following parts all for a good price:
S5 TII N370 Engine Harness -
S5 TII N370 ECU-
S5 TII N370 Boost sensor-
S5 TII N370 AFM-
S5 TII RB FCD-
PACKAGE DEAL-
Will throw in a JDM TMIC w/ Tb elbow, bracket and hoses.
Overall I'll save $700 if I dont go the stand alone route. More money towards other goodies

I feel you. These were the best photos I could get I guess. I send paypal tomorrow morning and should get parts by Fri or Sat. We'll see.
Alright yall, once these arrive, I'll try and delve into the harness install. I think I also try and clean up the engine bay, replace the old motor mounts, and post photo's of the actual motor.

that's good to hear.w/ a proper harness it should save you a fair bit of time redoing a n/a harness.see if you could find a body harness aswell.it's the harness that goes from the battery/alternator/starter.cause there are differences between the t2 and n/a tranny.

UPDATE:
So....pretty much on the road to wrapping things up. Since my previous post I explained that I was expecting my harness and ECU to complete my electornic's portion of my swap.
At this point, my 13bt is not yet dropped in the car and Im still waiting to pick up my parts from JRX rotary that I needed originally. Dang....all this traveling and waiting makes my stomach ache.
My TB has a bent throttle linkage which Juni agreed to replace along with my thermostat cover, alternator, and hopefully I get my hands back on the (supposed to be equipped) power steering pump.
Quite a bit of work remaining and I havent yet tackled my exhaust situation. Any of you guys have suggestions on which exhaust to go with?? I need a complete set up if possible, minus the cannister's.

Racing Beat downpipe and pre-silencer to Apexi N1 EVO catback.
Sounds good, not loud at all.
Of course all you REALLY need if you are trying to get out cheap is the downpipe.
Oh, and be sure to port the **** outta the wastegate before installing the turbo, easy and worth it. Mine holds 10 psi all day long!!

Yeah for sure. Im acutally all good, my car already came TII tranny equipped hooked to an NA motor. This was the whole premise behind doing the swap in the first place, MORE POWAH!!!
Exhaust components are next in line and once the swap is complete and running, I'll go into upgrading brakes and a possible aftermarket diff install ( KAAZ 1.5
)
