doing a auto to 5sp swap

Ok guys...i have two rx7's an 87 which is an automatic and has a newer engine (under 50,000 miles) that has a body in good condition but was rear ended slightly with no major damage and a 88 5sp. that has a messed up left qtr panel and rocker panel near the tire well and has a not so good interior. My question is which would be cheaper?....to take the tranny out of the 88 and convert the 87 into a 5sp. or swap out the motor from the 87 into the 88 and just replace the qtr panel????

The auto- 5-speed swap wouldnt cost you anything, since you have all of the parts on the other car. Body work and paint can be very expensive, especially rear quarter work on uni-bodies.
