Does the racing beat exhaust have a cat ?

I might get a 89 Rx7 TII soon!! Im quite intrested in moding it, and Ive read about those 59hp gained with that exhaust system... impressive! but I have a problem: emissions.. does it have a cat ??

disavantages it costs almost the same and you only get half as much stuff. will only add a few HP.

a cat-back is from "the cat back" it is only a Y pipe and muffler or just a pipe and a muffler.

by cat I meant the catalitic converter.. (just to make sure we are talking about the same thing)

yeah, like Santiago said, the part of the exhaust that is behind the CAT (ie from the pipe coming off the cat to and including the mufflers).

Your doing fine.

A cat-back system is only an upgrade of the components that bolt up behind your stock cat. So a cat-back is the y-pipe and the two mufflers. A full system on a TII has a downpipe from the turbo, then the pre-silencer, then the Y and then the mufflers. The full system I describe above is called a turbo-back system.

Your other option to stay emissions legal is to get a high-flow performace cat.

yep native language is Portuguese.. I do speak a little spanish. not to much, but maybe technicall names are similar to Portuguese
