Does this port need opened up?

I have a S5T2. I bought the middle iron for a S5NA and was told that the NA and T2 are the same but the intake port on the NA iron looks really small. The T2 iron pictured was ruined by the PO but that is all I have to go by. Does the NA port look too small?

The stock TII iron has a very small primary as well. I don't know off hand if they are exactly the same, but they are damn close. Somewhere there's a stock port timing chart around...

That ported TII iron is ruined for sure. Personally, unless you are going for high power levels (400HP), I recommend you keep the primary porting very conservative. My typical example of this are the primary port timings on the Mazdatrix 6 port NA template. It just brings the port up and down a bit, not even really changing opening timing (maybe a few degrees by moving up).
