Does compression gradually build up?
im trying to purchase a t2 and the guy say he put a rebuilt motor into the car. here is what he said:
"Since the motor is still new, compression isn't fully there. I've had the motor running for about 7hrs, I estimate that to be around 500miles. I have the recipt for the motor. Since I removed the emissions equipment I haven't been able to get a good idle. "
is this true? is the motor still being broken in?
please help me out..

sometimes rebuilds dont have compression right off the bat, the more newer parts the better they run right off the bat.
ie we used to be able to tell a used housing mana motor from a new housing mana motor, because the used housing engines had a hard time hot starting for a while (500-1000miles) while the new housing motors start right up
