Just get a used one from someone parting out a car. I'm sure someone will send one your way cheap.

Uhm... go look in the "Parts For Sale" section of the forum. Brake boosters don't seem to be in terribly great demand, and there's a lot of cars being parted out. I'm willing to bet a "WTB: Brake booster for (whatever your car is)" thread will get a few rather quick responses.

^^^probably aksing how much You'll CHARGE to take the brake booster away......OK that's exaggerated.

But I would make sure you didn't develope a vacuum leak first. I'd hate to see you go through all this effort only to find it was a cracked vacuum hose. My brakes were "hard" to push untill I rebuilt the motor. During the rebuild I pulled off all the old vacuum lines (one at a time) and replaced the brittle old crap. And then my brakes worked fine for about 10 minutes untill all the seals started leaking from the new power being applied. Since then I had to do all new brakes and Master cylinder.

Just something to think about.

I'm sure you could pick up a rebuilt or new one from something like NAPA..
Also check the hoses going to your booster and make sure they are connected and not cracked or anything..

You know, the FSM has several checks you can perform to verify booster serviceability...
