Does anyone have this 86-88 shifter problem?

i cant speak for 89-91 cause i know their shifter is different(better), but why cant, even after i throw in new shifter bushings, does my shifter get sloppy if i even drive 20 minutes.
I notice that the 4 bolts at the base of the shifter come loss and eventually....Sloppy!

Im constantly tighting those bolts.
does anyone else have this problem?

Maybe I will need some lock washers too!

Thanks!
