Does anyone else have the finishline rear spoiler?

I have what I'm pretty sure is the finishline rear spoiler, and I have never seen it on another car. I'm just wondering who else has one. I'd also like to see some pics, since mine is just down to the plastic core (no rubber left). The pics in the "what did it come with" thread are gone, and were too small when they were there.

Not sure, mine came with a rubberized wedge-shaped lip on the back, which I replaced with the later raised spoiler a-la Initial D

No, this is an actual wing, but it only has 1 support right over the 3rd brake light, not 2 supports like the sport wing. I'm pretty sure it was part of the Finish Line dealer installed aero package.

Where did you get the spoiler and how much did it cost? Can you give me a site with it's specs?

Hey Sideways7, I'm not sure what you've got but I'm pretty sure that my sport has the dealer installed aero-kit (by finishline). I just got it back in July and the previous owner even had the dealer sticker which shows the option.

After I put some vert rims on it

That's not the Finish Line Aero package. Looks very similar to the old Kaminari kit. Front end pics?

Someone also mentioned the Mazdaspeed spoiler. Sideways, you don't see "Mazdaspeed" embossed anywhere do ya? It would be center top or center bottom. Looks like the stock spoiler but has the single post and a slight bigger lip on the end of the spoiler.

Is your's 3 piece? I have the '86 brouchure and the finishline one looks like a one piece design.

There were a few companies making repo's of factory rear spoilers in the 90's

Car looks good either way!

His wing is a 3pc. That's what gave it away to me.

wow, ive never seen that kit before...

I think the Red car looks hawt... Wonder if theres a way to still get that kit? It looks agressive, not too "stock" and not over the line RICER style... Its perfect...

The rear spoiler as a whole is actually 6 pieces. I guess the spoiler itself is only 3 pieces but there are 3 more that go up the sides and wrap around the rear hatch. You can see this better in the brochure. Unfortunately some of those pieces were damaged before I got the car, a shame because the side pieces had cool RX-7 logos. And it's the real deal, again I have the dealer sticker that shows the option.. I believe it was $1200..

sorry.. I hope I'm not hijacking this thread btw

No, its fine. I want pics to compare mine to. We do have different wings, though. If yours is the finishline kit, then I don't know what mine is. The only pics of the finishline kit I had ever seen was that small brochure scan that someone posted, and its too small to really tell, plus its at the wrong angle. It looked like what I have, though. Judging from my wings condition, it is quite possible that its a cheap knockoff of some other wing. It is very rough to the touch and cracking in places, but I just love how it looks on my car. If I ever get my car painted I'm gonna find a way to smooth it out. Maybe sand it down or something, I dunno.
Anyway, I just went out and snapped some pics of the wing. There's nothing embossed on it. As you can see, the center support is different from sonorous7's wing, but the rest looks similar.

You got a pic of yours? I'm curious to see it in good condition.

I actually found another thread with a pic of the same rear spoiler as the one sonorous7 has, and it has Mazda set into the spoiler, so it must be a factory one. The only thing I can think of is the finish line one, since I've seen all the others in person.

I should have mentioned that "Mazda" is on the top of the spoiler in the middle. You're right though, your spoiler does look like the one in the scan but it's hard to see the details. I actually have a hard copy of the brochure and in that you can see that there is no space inbetween the wing and the body on the finishline spoiler. That's the main difference between mine and yours. I might try posting a high res scan of that page if I can.. Whatever you have, it's cool, if I ever come across one for sell, I'd consider getting it.. since mine's seen better days..

Ok, so I guess that settles it. I'll have to ask the previous owner where he got the wing from.
And yeah, I would like to see a larger scan of the picture. Thanks.
