for a while, i've been looking at getting a better engine/tranny for my 92 eclipse. I've considered the 3.0v6 tt that comes in 3000GT Vr-4s, but i was wondering, how hard would it be to convince a 13b TT to work in there? also, where would be the best place to get a good (as in, will last a long time) 13b TT? i normally wouldn't have even considered a rotory, but, since getting my 86 gxl, i've sorta grown attached to them any input on this idea?

PS - yes, i'm going to get flamed for having a dsm, but i like the damn car, deal with it!

PSS - yes, this should technically probably go to the dsm forums, but if you haven't checked out them recently, here's the response you get "if you wanted more proformance out of your dsm, you should probably have bought the model that offers..... " whereas you guys are cool

if your eclipse isnt turbo i highly reconmend swapping out that na 4g63 and installing a turbo 4g63 . it'll drop right in along with a turbo tranny, ecu and whatever else you need . im a rotary enthusiast through and through , but my best friend is a diamond star fan so i know a little . i think the the 4g63t is one of the most potent engines aside from anything rotary , i rank it up there with sr20det's and 2jz-gte .

chris - why not?
Rancid - But don't rotories put out ~ 1/3 more hp when turbo? also, it seems that i would save a lot of weight by going this route...

keep in mind this is just rambling for when i have money

The Turbo Rotary Long block takes up about as much physical space as the turbo 4g63 long block, so a swap really isnt going to save you much weight. I dont think there is any way to bolt the engine to the tranny, and there are very few mazda trannies that would work.

The only way it would really work would be to convert the DSM to RWD and mount the engine/tranny in a conventional setup, but you might as well just buy a TII if you are going to do that.

Just buy anouther 4g63, or swap to turbo if you dont already have one.
