Well i lost my plastic undertray, and after reading the debates about whether or not it is necessary, i decided that i wanted it back on there just in case. So i found one at a junkyard, but it had several cracks in it. I got some fiberglass tape and epoxied it along the cracks, on both sides of the crack. I cleaned the dirt away with rubbing alcohol before to help the epoxy stick better.

So do you think it will hold up?

well it will hold better with mechanical adhesion...i.e. sanding

But is that holes I see drilled on each side of the crack? smart fella

I would say it should hold up decent, just keep an eye on it. You'll notice de-laminiation before any major failure.

i'm sure it will be fine, just be sure to fully bolt it in or sagging could help crack it again.

Yes I think it will hold. I use patches almost like that on F/A-18's. Sanding would have helped you but stop drilling the cracks was a good move. Now what you needed was some 956 industrial adhesive and a good curing light. Good job all around.

Heh. The fiberglass is problably the strongest part of that undertray now.

Now that i think if it, you should just make the whole thing out of fiberglass, using the pastic one as a stencil/mold. Then make one for me.

Actaully, after reading the thread about the aluminum radiator cover, has anyone made a metal underbody tray too?
