I'm putting in a t3/t4 turbo in on my 88 tII and was wondering if i need to replace the stock injectors? they are 550cc right? i alright got them cleaned and found nothing wrong with them. also i'm replacing the fuel pump with a bigger one, probably walbro.

Did you buy the turbo yet? The reason I ask is because the T3/T4 is generally not the best choice for these cars. Usually people either go for a BNR hybrid, or upgrade to a full T4.

Yes, the stock fuel injectors are rated at 550cc/min @ 40psi. In general, any significant upgrade to a TII requires upgrades to the fuel system, but the specifics depend on a lot of factors like engine power level, boost level, line size, etc.

well, the turbo and the fmic came with the car when i bought it. so thats why i'm putting it on... why not right it came with it. i would probably only boost up to 10lbs. so not too much.

Streeport, stock turbo, injectors will hit %100 duty cycle around 12PSI.

You need bigger injectors.

Stock turbo is larger than most T3/T4 hybrids.

Different sized injectors will need managed as well, not just fuel pressure via a more powerful pump and or FPR.

We'd have to know what size turbo it is to know.

a t04 can make less than 300hp to over 400hp.

t3/t4 could be 150 to, well, i dont know, theyre tiny.

okay, i guess i'll just wait for that and get a bigger turbo, but i have another question. If i put just in the fmic to the stock turbo, will it make a difference, and will it still pass smog? because i need to smog it soon and would be great if i can pass it with the fmic in it.

passing smog, besides the tailpipe test, depends on how strict the visual inspection is. You could definately pass the tailpipe with an FMIC and all your other emissions equipment working, and an FMIC will in fact help you on stop turbo if you turn the boost up.

Yeah, it'll pass just fine. You will still have the ACV to direct port and split-pipe air, and on S4s you'll have an EGR valve.
