Do I need gaskets?

Do I need gaskets for my intake manifolds? or can I jsut use RTV? gasket maker? both? thanks folks

You will probably get mixed reviews on that one, but I always use oem gaskets whenever I can.

I'm pretty sure that custom gaskets would be fine (made from paper gasket material). I just wouldn't want to try them on the exhaust side.

yeah ive got the exhasut gasket. im just wondering for the intake manifolds. should I use the gasket paper or can I use gasket goop.

Just because there's sucking involved with the intake, I would be careful about using the goop. I'd play it safe, and use something that can't be sucked into the housing.

oh yeah thats true... itd be pretty tough to cut a gasket to the perfect shape. I might aswell just buy them

Or, go that route. From what I understand, they're less than $10 each from Mazda.
