Unhappy Do I Have Leading Or Trailing Plugs Or Both?

DUMB QUESTION. JUST GOT MY RX7 ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I AM CHANGING THE SPARK PLUGS AND AUTOZONE PARTS STORE ASKED IF I NEED THE TRAILING OR LEADING PLUGS? I WOULD ASSUME I NEED BOTH, BUT AM NOT SURE. I DID A SEARCH AND FIND ONLY INFO ABOUT RUNNING 7'S OR 9'S - LOSS SPARK ETC.

I OWN A 1988 MAZDA RX7 TURBO II 10TH ANNIV.EDITION

CAPS LOCK!!!

You will need both leading and trailing plugs BUR7EQ, and BUR9EQ. (2 of each..)Trailing plugs go in the top spark sockets, and leading go in the bottom. The NGK plugs will be marked L and T, and the Trailing will also have 2 blue lines on the ceramic.

IF you feel inclined to do so, you can run 4 trailings in your TII.

Although the benefit isn't as much until you are modded and the colder plugs are needed.

ok, cool. I am having the cats removed tomorrow and running a straight pipe back to the y-pipe (dual mufflers) I also ordered a Bonex Under Drive Pulley as well. I pre-mix. Does the spark plug matter if premix?

I dont think you should be using underdrive pulleys on a stree driven car. It will cause your alternator and water pump to slow down and might give you charging problems as well as cooling problems.

Yes.
Trailing=top
Leading=lower

Easy way to remember.

Nipon Denso makes good plugs for 7's also .. Infact I have better luck with the Denso's, I am running a HI-6 CDI though.
