Do I have enough fuel for my mods??

Basically I want to know if Im gonna run out of fuel with my current setup. My only real fuel mod is the nippondenso fuel pump I recently purchased from Rx7.com. I just got back my 550cc injectors from RC-Engineering, they were cleaned and balanced. I plan to run no more then 10-12 PSI on the stock turbo, Ill be getting a Greddy Profec A or HKS EVC IV boost controller soon. My mod list is below but you dont need to see everything there so ill just list what really matters.

Nippondenso fuel pump
Street Ported (mild)
Apexi intake
JIC 90MM downpipe and catback
HKS top mount
No emissions

Should I purchase an FPR? Will I need an F-Con?

Thanks in advance
Chris

The fuel pump is fine. Id suggest getting a FPR as well as 680s or 720s for the secondarys. Yeah either the F-Con or S-AFC will work fine, i don't know much about the fcon so i can't comment on it, the safc ive seen work on many cars and always good results and the ease of tuning is very good. As for the boost controller the profec b is easier than the A and a bit more reliable from what ive heard.

don't get a FPR. not needed and a pain in the ***. they are a bad band aid.

first off don't get a profect A it won't work. the B will.

with the pump and stock injectors you should be ok to 10psi. you'll need a FCD to pass 8-9.

if you wana run any higher then 10. I woudln't turn up the boost till you had a wide band pluged in at the same time. to compare it at 10psi, 11psi, 12psi etc.

Why wont a profec A work? My friend has one on his Turbo II and it seems to work perfect.

it must be stock??

if you have any boost creep now (so if you are running over 6psi with no controller)

it won't work.

Hey Scott,

Not trying to flame or anything, but why would a FPR be a "band aid"...im curious as to how that is. I would prefer a new aftermarket FPR over the old stock one(which is known for failing). Yeah i agree it can be a pain to install but i don't think i would classify it as band aid.

Hey chris,
Im going to get that IC on tomorrow. Get some 720's and a S-afc. Thats what a lot of people seem to be running. I talked to Rocky from Rx7.com, and the 550's will work for 10psi but at max duty. They dont recomend that for reliability issues. (they know their stuff and have a fast 7) I replaced mine once (while running 8psi) and when I changed to 720's one of the 550's were cracked. (they were used but also cleaned and balanced) Good luck!!

Dont get the f-con!!

It's a pain because it involves cutting off the old FPR and welding on the new. Not to mention, its unnecesarry... a lot of people run high boost on the stock FPR with no problems.

With your setup, you'll have plenty of fuel. If you still want an added measure of safety, you might want to the fuel pump voltage mod:

http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/rewire.htm

At 10-12LBS of boost, you'll have no problems on the stock injectors. I had a G-Force ECU which bumped up my boost to 12PSI and it often ran rich! BTW, the part's for sale if your interested....
