I found some nice gen 3 leather seats but I don't know if they will fit in my gen 2 convertible or not. My gen 2 has the old cracked leather seats. Is there a way to change rails out or something?

yeah they should fit....the rails can be switched to fit if need be.

 

are the rail bolt positions the same?

 

I'm not sure what the pattern is. I've only seen his seats once and he lives pretty far away.

Another problem is that they don't match anything in my car. My interior is blue and black, his interior was black and tan.

 

Id like to know to. Do they fit? My s5 conv. has cracked black leather seats as well. If it works i would like to do that also!

 

You need to use your seat brackets. you can re drill them so that the 3G seat bolts to your brackets for the drivers side. The passenger side may be more dificult since the 2G seats are angled on the bottom. The 3G seats may not be like this, making it difficult to mount properly.
