The tittle is basically trhe question. I thought i'd seen some that didn't need a counterwieght. Just wondering casue my ring gear came off mine and won't stay back on so i need a new one also i already posted in the forsale/wanted area but if anyone has an aftermarket flywheel for an 86 NA that they would sell please PM me or respond in my WTB ad in the for sale/wanted section.

no, there are some that do not require a counterweight. i have an aftermarket flywheel i want rid of, but i dont know what model its for...apparently neither did the guy who sold it to me for my TII, which it doesnt fit.
here's a pic, if you can figure out what its for, let me know, if you want it, make me an offer. NA clutch disk fits it, TII is too big.

The key phrase is "internally balanced" vs. "externally balanced." I'm not aware of any internally balanced aftermarket flywheels other than the HKS. I know it's possible to have a professional remove weight and rebalance the stock flywheel.
