DIY FCD for S5

I'm planning on making this fcd http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/articles/fcd/diy_fcd.htm but need to know if the S5 pressure sensor follows the same voltage/psi curve as the one in the guide, and if not, has anyone figured out whats the correct clamping voltage for an S5?

Yes the pressure sensor follows the same PSI/voltage curve.

I built one for my S5TII. i never isntalled it... it is sitting 300 kms away from me. However you have to realize the voltage you want to clamp at is higher then a S4. I'm not quite sure what fuel cut is on a S5 TII. i have ran up to .63 kg/cm^2 and did not notice a fuel cut.

That is 8.9 psig for the american people.

I think fuel cut is around 9.5 psi for S5 TII? I'm not sure. Don't quote me on that.

The difference with the S5 TII is that the connector going to the pressure sensor is missing a pin which feeds it 12V.

In order for the paul stokes FCD to work you will need to find a 12 V power source that is switched with the ignition.

Thanks, I knew the fuel cut was higher, but as long as the sensor is the same it shouldnt be hard to figure out.

Though, other than for fuel cut, does the ecu use the pressure sensor for anything? I'd think the fuel would be metered out by the afm reading, and i'm missing a stock boost guage so I dont need it for that. Just tying the input to ground would make this alot easier than it already is.

I've often wondered that myself... nobody seems to know, though some mumble about timing
be interesting to see someone run it on a dyno with the map sensor on and off...

Well in an S5 its going to be used for the built in boost controller.

In an S4 its also used for timing control (mucho important) and deciding on a few other things such as fuel cut on decel, when to run the pump at +12v and to a certain extent how rich (how much trim) to run at, although most of these are just on/off thresholds. Don't know how this translates to S5 but I'm sure it would be safe to say it has similar uses.
