ditched jspec idea, how does this sound?

Okay, so Ive decided to ditch the whole jspec engine idea for the moment ( for various reasons). I guess Ill start by saying that I have an 88 gtu with 215xxx miles, low compression (50s across the board) and possibly a bad speed sensor or steering pump, Ill find out later... For now, I am going to just rebuild the engine and do a street port/ tb port as well. I plan on just putting a turbo on this engine later on this year or most likely next year (provided the engine is worth rebuilding). I have a good mechanical knowledge and know at least 10 mechanics, so the rebuild is no problem. My question is, are one-piece apex seals stronger than 2-piece when it comes to putting a non-rx-7 turbo on? The local salvage yard has at least one car with a td04 and possibly a car with a td05... if those are not available, maybe I'll get a t4 or t3?, dunno. Any comments/ suggestions?

Also, when I rebuild, I plan on taking apart the tape on the wiring harness and making sure all the connections are good, and then shrink-wrapping everything.... this sound okay as well?

And one more thing, is there anywhere online that I can find a new speedo cable? There is only one fc in my area for parts, and it too is missing the speedo cable shaft...

Thanks,

Big Mike
