Disconnected wire by leading coil

Hi guys, I just noticed this black wire by the leading coil which isn't connected to anything, and must not have been since i got the car. Does this go to something? Should i ground it off? Thanks in advance!

Don't blindly assume black wires should be grounded...it's the factory tach test wire.

You'd be very confused on German cars, where grounds are almost never black

grounding it would instantly kill the coil pack, so yes, you probably should do that...

i'm not entirely sure why people have this weird inhibition to plug in everything that isn't plugged into something.

Thanks for the quick replies guys I'll leave it alone. I thought it might be diagnostic, Ive just been dealing with a lot of disconnected sensors etc from previous owner. Thanks!
