Disconnected Line, Please Help Identify
Car is a 1987 GXL I am attempting to rescue.
I found a vacuum line today that is not connected (looking for a dropped bolt). After going through the S4 and S5 manuals, and whatever pictures I could find on line, I am pretty sure I know where it goes, but not sure why it is disconnected.
Attached picture shows the line, as well as where I think it attaches. Look just above and to the left of the orange connector. I think this is the EGR valve (70% sure). I think the line goes down to a solenoid valve, but cannot confirm.
So. Will someone please confirm this is EGR, and, if not, please tell me what it is?
And, if there is a reason to disconnect it (I think it causes a vacuum leak when EGR is activated), I would like to understand that as well.
Thanks
Connection is just above and just to left of orange connector.
