DIRTY VERT with "new to me" wheels

Yeah so if anybody out there reads my posts occasionally they know i've swapped an auto tranny for a manual one and dropped in a new engine into my vert and got her running at the biggin of october and she's almost ready to drive down to arizona --just a little more tweaking required.

I Have replaced the trunk lid on the vert because i wasn't a huge fan of the luggage rack and the lid also had some mega paint gone and i found a lid for 60 bucks shipped so i went for that and allthough it's spraypainted it's ok because i was given a 200 dollar gift certificate to a local bodyshop and that'll more than cover a repaint with brand new white paint for it, so after that happens i'll be a happy boy.

Also a few weeks ago i kissed a cub nearly head on going about 45 following 1Revvin7 in his TII because i was trying to be cool and catch up. anyway i smashed the hell out of my control arm and ruined one of my vert rims.

So i found a set of 87 sport wheels on e-bay and acquired them for about 100 bucks shipped and got new rubber and an alingment done at the local tire place--bout 400$. anyway i want your opinions on how you seem to like the wheels on the vert. i presonally think they look great--espically when they're clean. but i live in minnesota so stuff stays clean for like 2 days. Anyway i'm posting up my pics for youse guys to check out and let me know what you think about the rims.

And as for my car being dirty, yeah that's ok. it's 9:45 in the morning and i'm going back to bed before i go back to work. keeping my car clean will be a priority later in the day.

Matt

They look OK on the vert, although IMO those mesh BBS wheels do look best.

You got yourself a nice vert, it could use a wash.

they should be "cutting with the rothation" not "cutting against"

Unless you spend alot of time in reverse, they are cutting with the rotation. Remember, the top of the wheel rotates toward the direction of car travel.

i'm pretty sure theyre on the right way because on each wheel it has a R or an L on it and they each correspond to what the leters say so i'm about 100% sure they're on the right way.

They're on the right way because the L and R correspond to the side of what car they should go on. So i'm about 100% sure i got them on correctly.

Yeah i know i got her mostly washed up after my nap this morning and she's looking pretty cute now, well she was earlier, in rochester there is a shitton of construction so i'm having a hard tim ekeeping her clean for more than 1 trip to work, and paying 5 bucks per wash every day isn't worth it to me, plus i need new drivers side window weather stripping so i get my *** dripped on in an automatic wash and that sucks.
But yeah i honestly like these rims about 68% better than the BBS mesh wheels, i'm just ot a huge fan of those i guess.
Thanks for your input

Vert OEM RIMS are MUCH lighter...you just hurt your performance.... But visually they look ok.. I'd paint them black...

Not a big fan, coming from a Sport owner. I ditched those for some 'vert wheels and S5 TII wheels.

Not to insult or anything, but those are the "crappiest" five lug wheels.

That's good to know but i was working on a budget and people selling vert rims wanted a whole assload for them and i can't afford it, they may be lighter but since my car isn't a supercar anyway i don't think it matters all that much because i need something that works during college, once i get money then you can give me some better options... or you coudl always go charity style on me and get me a set of ssr's or something :-)

and i think vert rims are ugly, ESPICALLY w/o center caps.

haha he did sorta own you with that last post--but as long as it's in good fun, i don't like wars in my threads. yeah i was thinking they look better the other way around as well but i'm way too lazy to change something so minor and as long as they work fine it's kosher for me
