I was wondering what is better for performance A GUs or a GXL? does the GUs have diffrent gearing or are they just lighter? I am going to use the car in occasial drags (mostly street, i know i know) but the biggest use will be a daily driver, but the biggest thing that i will be racing is auto-x. also does anyone know where in the bay area( I would like to look at the car first) i can buy a not severly beatup rx7? (FC of course!) I drove one the other day and man am I sold! wow this is such an awsome car!

 

The GTU and GXL has different gearing in the 1988 model only I THINK. The 89-91 years are the same.

You'd want the rarer GTU-S model for the better gearing.
