diffrence in gtu

diffrence in gtu

ok guy i took the motor out of my 86 gxl that had a hammered body and bought a 90 gtu what will that motor bolt right in and will i have a problem useing the gxl's taillights on it what are the major differents in the gtu to the gxl

90 gxl came stock with a more powerful motor. You'll have to do some drilling to get the taillights to fit. You'll need your 86 engine management computer.

ok i got the computer and harness will the gxl computer plug right in or do i have replace the harness to

well, the series 5 (90) had different plugs for the injectors, and it has the electrical OMP and a different air flow meter. I am not sure if the AFM has the same plug or not, but either way you should be able to get it to work with some rewiring.

where could i find some info on this its my first big job on this car i got some help from a guy that builds them in puerto rico he just never done one like this just trying to be one step ahead also im parting out whats left of my gxl maroon interior

also how can i tell if this is a real gtu its got a stock wing turbo mirrors but no power windows or locks or electronic susspention i think thats great though cause it costs so much to replace

the 90 GTU doesn't have any luxury items, like pw, pl, aas, or cruise (at least mine doesn't) all mine has is moonroof, spoiler, and electric mirrors.
