Differential question (About the big bolt)
Im currently in the progress of swaping my GXL to TurboII.
The new engine run and all, but im having problem with my drivertain.
I bolted my TII tranny on my TII motor, i want to put my TII driveshaft, and keep my GXL lsd differential.
Is it possible to remove the big bolt(26mm) in the center of the 4 bolt (14mm) that hold the driveshaft in place on the differential side(ON THE GXL DIFF)
And then, remove the plate and change it with the one on the TII diff.
so that way i could bolt my TII driveshaft to my NA tranny?
+ Whats the REAL name of that plate?

I'd say try it, tells us what happens-- I'm raelly not sure.
0--BTW: I just swapped my 390 for a 410 rear end. My driveshaft wouldn't fit either. I had to pry it into the tunnel. My guess is I the rear-suib-frame assembly wasn't aligned properly when i put the dif back up.
BUT: IIRC you can't use the TII driveshaft with a TII Tranny and N/A Dif. Nor can you use the N/a Driveshaft. Neither fits I thought. Mazdatrix makes a custom driveshaft that fits between the TII driveshaft and the N/A difs. Any custom mechanix shop could do it for about the same price though.

UPDATE:
You cannont interchange the "Companion Flange" from NA to TII.
And vice versa.
So dont try it, it dont worst the time involved.
You can make it fit, but you will need to bring the TII companion flange to a local machine shop to get it shortened to fit in the NA Diff Casing.
