differential question

My car is a 89 NA with a tii swapped into it. The transmission is a Turbo transmission. It was this way when i got it. The shell was an auto that has been converted to a manual. I decided to see what is in the diff because it was acting like an open. In fact it is an open with 3.9 gears.

I decided untill i can get a lsd in there i would put a welded in there. I picked up an na diff with 4.10 gears in it, had it welded and put it in.

When i went to bult the drive shaft up i found the the driveshaft's bult holes are spaced to far appart to bolt into the diff.

Do i need a tii diff? or is there a way to make the na diff work?

Are you going to Drift or Road race the car?

Welded diff on street or AutoX = Bad News.

I believe you can take the flange from your old diff and bolt it to the 4.10 Then your bolt holes will line up. I assume you have a TII Drive shaft.

The input shafts on the pinion on the TII and NA Diffs are the same. It is the flange that is different.

the turbo trans uses a larger pinion flange on the drive shaft to diff. you can get a custom driveshaft at mazdatrix. it fits between turboII trans and NA diff. 300 bux though.

Or you can re-drill the N/A flange to match the T2 driveshaft...

Initally i plan to lern how to drift on it, eventually i want a lsd in there.

I do not know what the driveshaft is from.
I pulled the flange off both diff's. It appears that one is a but longer then the other. (by longer i mean the cylindrical part that gose into the diff.)
